OUR BAND PROGRAMS
The Meade County Band is located in Brandenburg, KY and has a long tradition of musical excellence. The Marching Band is a past Kentucky State 3A Champion and two time Middle Tennessee State University Contest of Champions Grand Champion. The band has been a regular finalist at local contests, receiving Reserve Grand Champion and Best Overall Music awards in recent years. In 2018 the MCHS Band was a Mid-States Band Association Class AAA Championship Finalist and has been a consistent KMEA State 5A Semi-Finalist since 2010.
The Meade County High School Concert and Symphonic Bands, as well as the Stuart Pepper Middle School Intermediate Band, consistently receive Distinguished Ratings at the KMEA Large Ensemble Assessment. SPMS and MCHS Band students are also regularly accepted into All-District, All-State, and regional Honor Bands.
The Meade County Band currently has nearly 250 band students enrolled in grades 7-12. Current band programs in Meade County include: Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, High School Concert Band, High School Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Color Guard, Winter Guard, Percussion Ensemble, and Pep Band.
